“To uplift the quality of life of every Talaingodnon by promoting sustainable agro-forestry, preserving indigenous cultural heritage, protecting natural resources, providing accessible basic social and infrastructure services, and fostering a disaster-resilient local economy through inclusive, accountable, and good governance.”

The municipality organizes its long-term objectives around key sectoral goals:

  1. Cultural Heritage & IP Empowerment

    • Safeguard ancestral domains and uphold Indigenous Peoples’ rights.

    • Preserve Ata-Manobo customs, traditions, and arts while integrating IP representation across local decision-making bodies.

  2. Ecological Conservation & Agro-Forestry

    • Promote sustainable upland agriculture (abaca, banana, corn, coffee, rubber) and community-based reforestation.

    • Protect the municipality’s virgin forests, headwaters, and biodiversity while mitigating climate change and disaster risks.

  3. Inclusive Social Services & Infrastructure

    • Expand rural health coverage, sanitation, and educational access tailored to IP and remote communities.

    • Develop resilient farm-to-market roads, water systems, and public utilities to connect hinterland barangays to market centers.

  4. Sustainable Eco-Cultural Tourism

    • Responsibly position Talaingod as Davao del Norte’s eco-cultural and mountain adventure hub.

    • Drive local economic growth through community-managed tribal villages and eco-tourism trails without compromising ecological integrity.

  5. Good Governance & Peace-Building

    • Practice transparent, participatory, and efficient local governance.

    • Maintain peace, order, and social cohesion across all barangays in close partnership with national line agencies, LGUs, and sectoral groups.
